New Evaluation Form In Use for Systemwide Professional Development

New Evaluation Form (.pdf)

We're always seeking feedback from our training activities and it's often difficult to get participants to spend a few moments at the end of a session to complete a serious evaluation. We realize that our immediate evaluation is simply a Level 1 evaluation (Donald Kirkpatrick!), but there are a few things that we really care about.

  1. We want to know how much of what was presented was truly USEFUL. We ask the question and invite a response in a percentage. If the evaluator gave low marks for all categories, but concluded that more than 50% was useful, that's significant.

  2. We want an assessment of how convenient the location was, particularly since we are beginning to offer more of our training on campuses.

  3. We want to know how we're doing with the new online registration system since we have virtually no personal contact with our customers prior to the training.

  4. And, we want to know how participants felt about how we treated them in person when they arrived at the seminar.

We've added a new section to the form that helps us get a picture of travel costs and the proximity of the training. When we take a look at cost-saving initiatives for next year this information will be particularly useful.

And, lastly, we're now assessing the interest level for specific certificate-based or series-oriented training. Although we're only hearing from our current participants, we'll get some early notice about curriculum interests.

I hope you like the new form. We think that the graphics and the "out of the box" rating scale will make this necessary chore a little bit of fun.

If you have an evaluation form that you really like, send it to me in PDF format and we'll post it for others to see.
